We are seeking a talented individual to join our Legal, Compliance, and Public Affairs team at Marsh McLennan. This role will be based in Toronto, and it is a hybrid role with a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
As a **Corporate Law Clerk,**you will be a member of a small, collegial legal and compliance team that supports Marsh McLennan’s businesses in Canada, including, Marsh Canada and Mercer Canada as well as functional areas including Human Resources, Finance, Real Estate/Facilities and Compliance. This position reports to the Assistant General Counsel for Canada.
**We will count on you to**:
- Review, negotiate and draft client engagement letters, RFP responses and non-disclosure agreements.
- Manage Federal and Ontario government security clearance programs
- Corporate Secretarial support for the portfolio of entities, including
- Minute Book management
- Drafting resolutions
- Annual corporate returns and filings
- Licensing matters
- Liaise with global colleagues on corporate governance matters
**What you need to have**:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of corporate clerk experience at a major law firm or corporate legal department, with the willingness to provide a broad range of legal support in a rapidly paced business
- Member of the Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and with colleagues within a team environment
- Proactive and practical approach to risk mitigation and legal problem solving
- Demonstrated project management skills and ability to excel in a high volume environment.
- Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy in work product
