**Your Opportunity**
We are currently seeking a Procurement Assistant to join our Procurement team. This will be a diversified procurement position within Stantec Mining that requires flexibility between procurement/expediting support to mining studies for capital development and capital project execution.

**Your Key Responsibilities**
- Internal and external client communication.
- Adhere to client and Stantec procurement procedures and standards.
- Assist with weekly reporting.
- Support setup, ongoing maintenance and updates of the procurement tracking system including:
+ Schedules and milestones for procurement deliverables and updates to the Requisition Tracking report for the Project Team.
+ Material management and tracking logs.
+ Expediting logs.
+ Vendor database.
- Run various internal and external reports including status reports, expediting reports, and analyze data with strong attention to details.
- Support Buyers to execute Procurement Cycle including: vendor selection, prepare and issue request for quotations, vendor bid evaluations and selection, and purchase orders.
- Coordinate/expedite engineering on technical documentation receipt for procurement’s use.
- Coordinate site inspections as required.
- Receive and/or obtain receiving reports from site.
- Historical tracking and archiving of labour/equipment/materials purchases for internal future project reference.
- Other general project support tasks to complete work, including customer specific requirements.
- Filing as required.
**Qualifications**
**Your Capabilities and Credentials**
- Strong ability to communicate clearly and effectively, written, spoken and interpersonal.
- Strong ability to organize and plan: computer literacy, time management, project planning and project deliverables.
- Strong database management, to maintain various procurement databases to track and report statuses of procurement packages at every stage of the procurement process.
- Ability to learn and adapt to new Stantec-developed software(s).
- Proficient with the following software:
+ Microsoft (MS) Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
+ Visio
+ Adobe Acrobat Professional
+ File-sharing and electronic document management systems (EDMS) platforms, such as ProjectWise and SharePoint.
- Understanding of procurement practices and policies.
- Ability to multitask, in both capacities of handling multiple clients/jobs/projects and be able to carry out multiple tasks and scalability within each project.
- Must be a self-starter and motivated working under mínimal supervision.
- Must be growth orientated (both personal, and company growth focused).
- Should be willing to receive direction.
- Should approach things in a positive manner and be a team player.
**Education and Experience**
- Post-secondary degree in related field with minimum of 4-6 years’ relevant experience.
- Experience working on heavy industrial projects at a consulting engineering firm is desirable.
Typical working environment includes working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time.
