**Position Summary**
The Assistant Procurement Manager supports the Procurement Manager in sourcing and managing inventory. This role involves coordinating with suppliers, wholesalers, and distributors, executing purchase orders, maintaining procurement records, and ensuring products arrive on time and meet quality standards.

**Duties**
- Assist with placing and following up on purchase orders; coordinate delivery schedules with stores and warehouse.
- Visit suppliers, wholesalers, and distributors as needed to inspect goods and maintain strong relationships.
- Track procurement records, invoices, and deliveries; assist with reconciliation and reporting.
- Support inventory management, including monitoring stock levels and assisting in replenishment.
- Help identify slow-moving items or seasonal stock adjustments.
- Collaborate with procurement, store operations, and finance teams to ensure smooth workflow.
- Assist with supplier negotiations and escalate larger contract issues to the Procurement Manager.

**Qualifications / Skills / Requirements**:

- Post-secondary education in Business, Supply Chain, Agriculture, or related field is a plus, but hands-on experience is most important.
- Around **2-4 years of experience** in procurement, purchasing, or inventory management—grocery, fresh produce, or FMCG preferred.
- Practical supplier communication and coordination skills; able to maintain positive supplier relationships.
- Comfortable using purchase-order or inventory systems; Excel or similar tools.
- Able to travel to suppliers, wholesalers, and distributors as needed; **work requires early morning visits to ensure timely stock.**:

- Must have valid government-issued ID and be eligible to work in Canada.

**Work Environment / Schedule**:

- Frequent field work visiting suppliers, distributors, and wholesalers across the GTA and Ontario.
- Schedule involves early-morning coordination and weekend visits to meet operational needs.
