Product Owner

**Job Title**: Product Owner, Salesforce - 24 Months term role

**Summary**

BCIB is the provincial Crown Corporation responsible for implementing the Community Benefits Agreement (CBA) on select public infrastructure projects. The CBA prioritizes hiring of local, Indigenous, women, people with disabilities and other underrepresented groups, and enables a culturally competent and respectful worksite. Reporting to the Director, Business Systems, the Product Owner, Salesforce, will create and develop the vision for the product and the product roadmap for Salesforce. This role will be responsible for maximizing the business value of the Salesforce product created for BCIB, anticipating the needs of business owners, users and customers. This role will lead the requirements gathering and prioritization of work performed by the Salesforce project team.

In this role, the Product Owner will have an opportunity to be the ambassador for the Salesforce product, uniting the business and the Salesforce project team under a shared vision and goals, all in support of enabling BCIB to conduct its business and achieve annual Service Plan goals.

**Essential Duties & Responsibilities**
- Support the Director, Business Systems in taking responsibility for the vision of the Salesforce product
- Develop strategic goals collaboratively for the Salesforce project
- Create and manage the product roadmap, build, and maintain timelines and project plans, track areas of concern, escalate risks and identify blockers.
- Communicate and collaborate with the business stakeholders, project team and the systems implementer on feature availability and work towards increasing adoption rate
- Negotiate priorities with various business stakeholders
- Support the BCIB salesforce project / execution team in the clarification of the product features with clear representation in JIRA (feature/epic/story, etc.)
- Help build and prioritize the product backlog based on the requirements to deliver the overall product roadmap, goals, and vision
- Take on the voice of the customer, interpreting design user data and feedback
- Work closely with system implementer’s scrum master and delivery team to deliver the roadmap objectives, ensuring it delivers the best user experience and meets the highest technical standards
- Set the goals for the sprints, the expectations and support the team to reach them
- Ensure resolutions are reached, produce, and communicate appropriate artifacts to ensure everyone is operating from the most recent and accurate information
- Identify the training requirements for the new features implemented
- Provide Executive and Steering Committee with Salesforce updates as required
- Satisfactorily complete the business’s requirements for the Salesforce product
- Supervise the daily functions of the BCIB Salesforce team

**Desired Skills & Qualifications**
- Expertise to quickly integrate with the business and identify key opportunities for product development
- Strong functional knowledge of the Salesforce platform
- Excellent communication skills to describe the product vision and backlog
- Ability to work collaboratively with the wider project team and business stakeholders, to develop creative and innovative solutions to solve business problems
- Good interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Close attention to detail

**Education and Experience**
- Bachelor’s degree in commerce, business, psychology, economics, computer science or other related field an asset.
- 3+ years of related experience
- Experience with the use of JIRA/Confluence an asset.
- Masters in Business Administration (MBA) or Product Owner certification from a recognized institution an asset
