Reporting to the Manager, Strategy & Pursuits, Energy Sustainability. The Energy & Sustainability Analyst will support the Energy & Sustainability services group in all aspects of their service offerings. This position will utilize the ESS energy management platform for internal and external clients, conduct energy audits and building condition assessments and will develop, consult and implement asset management and sustainability action plans.
Responsibilities include:
- Utilize and update the ESS energy management dashboard for internal and external clients. These duties will include enrolling new clients, creating dashboards, creating reports, updating carbon emissions factors
- Conducting energy audits and developing energy conservation measure and energy management plans for client facilities
- Conducting sustainable life cycle assessments and building condition assessments
- Provide technical support and guidance on sustainability concepts and projects such as energy efficiency, water efficiency, onsite generation, energy storage, smart building technologies, waste management, material selection, high performance HVAC systems, ventilation and IAQ, lighting, etc.
- Provide general communications support, including participating in the development of communications plans
- Provide general business development support, including participating in response to RFPs.
- Identify, pursue and manage funding streams and incentives on suitable projects
- Support specific sales, proposal and project efforts with a focus on the growth of the ESS Team
- Project Management support
- Interact with client, staff, client principals, architects, engineers, contractors, industry representatives, facility managers and construction trades
**COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS**
- Passionate about climate change mitigation, resiliency, sustainable design and management and energy management
- Excellent communication skills
- Self-directed and self-motivated
- Willingness to develop new skill sets and engage in on the job training
**EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS**
- Bachelor's Degree in Science/Engineering, Sustainability Management or related field
**WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS**
- 1-3 years of experience in the fields of sustainability management, energy management, asset management, consulting and/or sustainable facilities management
**SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS**
- Computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of building science, HVAC, construction practices, lighting systems, facility control systems, smart building technologies and energy management strategies
- Experience in facility energy efficiency and resiliency, GHG emissions management and building assessments
- Energy analytics skills will be an asset
- Must have a reliable vehicle and valid drivers license to travel to client sites
