**SCOPE OF POSITION**
Reporting to the Vice President of Partnerships, the Forum’s Social Media and Communications Officer will be the Forum’s focal point for updating and maintaining the organization’s website and Social Media platforms to promote the Forum’s work, increase its visibility, build brand awareness and audience growth through engaging communications and multimedia content.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES** (not an exhaustive list of duties to be performed)
**Website Management**:
- Regularly update and maintain the organization’s website, ensuring content is accurate, engaging, and up to date.
- Monitor website traffic and provide regular reports on engagement metrics.
**Social Media Management**:
- Develop, schedule, and publish content across social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.) to increase visibility and engagement.
- Monitor social media channels for interactions, comments, and messages; respond promptly and professionally.
- Upload photo and video content of events to be shared across all social media channels.
- Drivee the growth of social media followership and engagement.
- Track social media metrics and prepare quarterly performance reports.
**Content Creation**:
- Assist in creating graphics, infographics, videos, newsletters, and other visual content to communicate our mission and projects effectively.
- Collaborate with team members to develop engaging multimedia content.
- Work collaboratively with Forum team members on key messages, crafting supporting evidence points, and collecting third-party data, examples, success stories and testimonials that address corporate, marketing/communications and mission objectives.
**Communications Support and Brand Consistency**:
- Ensure consistency of messaging and branding across all digital platforms.
- Coordinate with the Forum’s IT Manager to ensure technical and security compliance.
- Support the development and implementation of communication campaigns.
- Coordinate with staff to ensure timely publication of articles and events.
- Provide communications guidance to fellow team members, employees and stakeholders when supporting social media efforts.
- Collaborate with teams to develop digital marketing content, edit website content on events produced by programs, and design on-brand social media graphics.
**Perform Other duties as required.**
**QUALIFICATIONS AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES**:
- A diploma or undergraduate degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Political Science, or a related field (completed or in progress).
- Bilingual (ENG & FR). Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and their management tools.
- Basic graphic design skills are essential. Working knowledge of design software such as Adobe Illustrator is an asset.
- Strong working knowledge of website software such as WordPress and the ability to make edits to a website.
- Strong understanding of social media user-experience (UX) and the ability to influence success and trends on social media.
- Photography and video skills for capturing images and videos at live in person events, as well as knowledge of creating effective video and photo content for social media.
- Results-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Self-starter with strong ability to work independently, be proactive and take initiative.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities and demands in an NGO environment.
- A high level of creativity with an ability to contribute to strategy and associate tactics and deliverables with a focus on quality and attention to detail.
- Interest in governance, public policy, or NGO work is a plus.
**Job Type**: Part-time
Pay: $23.00-$25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 48 - 72 per week
