**Summary**
Our HR & Payroll Coordinator will be responsible for assisting in multiple financial activities relating to company’s bi-weekly payroll function & assist in variety of HR activities.
**Job Duties**
- Assist in the preparation and administration of payroll for all company employees, while auditing payroll processing reports for accuracy.
- Overseeing the processing of staff expenses, co-ordination of the employee benefit and RRSP programs, corporate credit card transactions, journal entry preparation, reconciliations, and various other accounting functions
- Prepare journal entries and forms, such as records of employment, income tax forms, and remittances.
- Assist in the administration of employee programs (e.g. health benefits, RRSP’s, etc.), benefits, bonus, commissions & salary increases
- Maintain records for life insurance contributions made by employees; liaise with service providers to ensure funds are transferred as appropriate.
- Administer health and welfare plans including enrollments, changes, and terminations.
- Provides support to the Human Resource department as requested by management, which can include, data entry, file maintenance, as well as participation in the recruiting process.
- Review/ Approve Driver timesheet & process payroll
- File papers & documents into appropriate employees’ files (e-copy & paper copy)
**Requirements**:
- Experience in a fast-paced environment, ability to think and learn on the fly
- Knowledge of income tax forms, RRSP programs, health benefits programs, sick pay, and so on.
- Experience in managing the processing of salaries, bonuses, commissions, and other forms of compensation.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Excel, Word, Teams, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Strong organizational skills & high attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Effective communication and conflict resolution skills
- Must be able to handle confidential information in an ethical and professional manner.
- Strong knowledge of current employment law matters
**Assets**
- Post-secondary diploma/degree/certificate in Accounting, Business, or Finance is preferred.
- Having 1-3 years’ experience as a payroll & HR coordinator
- Ability to prepare ad hoc reports using Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to respond appropriately in pressure situations with a calm and steady demeanour.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
**Salary**: $48,000.00-$52,000.00 per year
