**Talent & Safety Compliance Lead**
The Talent & Safety Compliance Lead is an integral member of Southview's team. Utilizing their strong understanding of the relevant legislation and industry best practices, they support management in recruiting and developing a productive, engaged, and safety conscious workforce.

**Responsibilities**:
**Recruitment**
- Perform and complete full cycle recruitment and selection processes including, but not limited to, creation/updating job descriptions, creating job advertisements, pre-screening applicants, creating job-specific interview questions, scheduling interviews, conducting interviews, etc.
- Perform job analysis, including maintenance and creation of job descriptions, attending work locations, and job shadowing to collect job information
- Provide support to all new hires and internal Hiring Managers, managing all day-to-day onboarding processes to ensure employees complete onboarding in a timely manner
- Drive forward and identify new verticals in the talent attraction and retention efforts
- Assist in community recruitment initiatives including seasonal recruitment program execution, job fair set-up and participation, and similar undertakings as required
- Proactively manage recruitment materials, ensuring marketing and administrative materials are maintained
- Support corporate new hire orientation and on-boarding process
- Work with employment centers, government agencies, and placement programs ensuring requirements are met
- Conducting background checks
- Issuing offers of employment as required
- Tracking and reporting on employee turnover rate
**Employee Performance & Engagement**
- Coordinate an annual performance review process with managers and supervisors including, but not limited to, distributing forms, filing, educating for proper use and completion
- Provide guidance, direction and support to all team members on the topic of company policies & procedures, recruitment & selection strategy, performance management, job evaluations, terminations, training & development and benefits administration
- Resolve sensitive colleague issues. Research answers and make inquiries of HR related issues
- Resolve necessary payroll inquiries as required
- Support Operations Management with employee coaching and development
- Overseeing employee appreciation and perks program, developing and maintaining programs in accordance with budget
- Intake for low level employee relations concerns
- Managing internal communications
**Policy and Procedure**
- Maintain existing Human Resources Policies. Assist with development and implementation of new/revised Human Resources Policies and procedures
- Performing research and making recommendations based on changes in the legal landscape. Providing guidance and interpretation of employment law and HR policies for staff and management
- Conduct research and attend training sessions and make recommendations to help the company navigate evolving employment law. Provide recommendations to management for legally compliant policies, and provide risk analyses as requested
- Lead to improve inefficiencies as well as maintain and enforce published system processes
- Collaborate with peers and channels to identify inefficiencies and submit recommendations to the team
- Seek opportunities to improve and streamline processes; leverage best practices and generate new ideas that move the HR function forward
**Health and Safety**
- Assist with investigations related to confidential human resources matters, including harassment and bullying. Provide findings to management
- Work with management and supervisors on return to work matters for non-occupational illness and injuries (STD, LTD) and create accommodation plans for safe and healthy return to work
- Work in partnership with the Joint Health & Safety Committees (JHSC) and Managers to assist in driving a health and safety culture; this includes participating in health & safety meetings, conducting inspections, research, etc.
- Injury documentation - review employee injuries, filing WSIB claims as required
