**Overview**: As a Sewer/Water Deckhand, you will support the installation, repair, and maintenance of sewer and water systems on construction sites. Working under the supervision of a foreman or lead technician, you will assist in various tasks related to sewer and water infrastructure to ensure efficient and safe operations.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Assistance with Installation and Repair**:

- Assist in the installation and repair of sewer and water systems, including pipes, valves, fittings, and fixtures.
- Assist in excavating trenches and holes using hand tools and equipment.
- Support pipe laying activities, including measuring, cutting, and assembling pipes as directed.
- **Equipment Operation**:

- Operate hand tools and small power tools used in sewer and water construction activities.
- Assist in the operation of heavy equipment under the guidance of experienced operators, such as excavators, backhoes, and trenching machines.
- Ensure proper maintenance and cleanliness of tools and equipment after use.
- **Material Handling and Logistics**:

- Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment from trucks and storage areas.
- Transport materials and supplies to work areas as directed by the foreman or lead technician.
- Organize and maintain inventory of materials and supplies on site.
- **Safety and Compliance**:

- Adhere to safety regulations and procedures at all times, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Follow instructions and guidelines provided by the foreman or lead technician to maintain a safe work environment.
- Report any safety hazards, incidents, or near misses immediately to supervisors.
- **Support Team Operations**:

- Assist in setting up and dismantling work zones, including signage, barricades, and safety cones.
- Collaborate with team members and subcontractors to accomplish project goals and meet deadlines.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the foreman or lead technician.

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- Previous experience in construction or related field is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions from supervisors.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform tasks requiring lifting, bending, and manual labor.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and construction equipment.
- Willingness to learn and develop skills in sewer and water system installation and maintenance.

**Education and Certification**:

- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Certification or training in construction-related trades is an asset.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record may be required for certain tasks.

**Work Environment**:

- Work primarily takes place outdoors on construction sites, involving exposure to varying weather conditions and physical demands.
- May require occasional travel to different project locations and flexibility in working hours to meet project deadlines.

Pay: From $29.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
