**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Pipe Installation**:
- Accurately install sewer and water pipes according to project specifications, blueprints, and municipal codes.
- Ensure proper alignment, slope, and depth of pipes for optimal system performance.
- Connect and secure pipes using various techniques, including cementing, soldering, or welding.
- **Site Preparation**:
- Prepare and level trenches using manual and mechanical tools.
- Set up laser levels and transits to ensure accurate pipe grading and placement.
- Coordinate with other crew members to ensure efficient workflow and project completion.
- **Inspection and Testing**:
- Perform routine inspections to ensure the proper alignment and integrity of installed pipes.
- Conduct pressure tests to check for leaks and ensure system functionality.
- Address any defects or issues identified during inspections.
- **Safety Compliance**:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Participate in safety meetings and contribute to a culture of safety on the job site.
- **Collaboration**:
- Work closely with the project foreman, equipment operators, and other team members to meet project deadlines.
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding any challenges or changes in the work plan.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior crew members as needed.
**Qualifications**:
- Previous experience as a Sewer/Water Pipe Layer or in a similar role within the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of pipe laying techniques, tools, and materials.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and municipal codes.
- Experience with trenching, grading, and backfilling.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices for underground utility work.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy materials, working in trenches, and standing for extended periods.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
**Work Environment**:
- Primarily outdoor work, often in varying weather conditions.
- Requires physical strength and endurance, including the ability to lift and carry heavy materials.
- May involve working in confined spaces and at significant depths.
Pay: From $30.00 per hour
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
Work Location: In person
