**Job Duties and Responsibilities**
- Seat patient, prepare operatory, review medical histories and obtain vital signs
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments in accordance with IPAC regulations
- Use two-handed dentistry to assist the dentist with all dental procedures
- Record treatment information and other patient clinical notes using Dentrix software
- Monitor and maintain dental inventory
- Disinfect and stock operatories
- Prepare dental materials; liners and temporary fillings
- Perform simple lab duties, including; pouring study models and fabricating whitening trays and essix retainers.
- Review consent forms and postoperative instructions with the patients
- Write prescriptions for lab work, and follow up with lab cases
- Perform end of day duties including; running the lines, emptying the ultrasonic and completing end-of-day sterilization
We expect progression from Level I to Level II during the term of employment. Progression from Level I to Level II is possible with education, training, and licensure.
**Competencies and Qualifications**
- Post-secondary education in Dentistry related programs. University degree in Dentistry would be considered an asset
- Minimum of 7 months to 1 year of related practical working/training experience
- HARP certification
- Working knowledge of dental milling machinery
- Working knowledge of Steri-Tracker software
- Working knowledge of Smile Cloud software
- Working knowledge of Autodesk Meshmixer software
- Working knowledge of Dentrix G7
- Working knowledge of diagnostic photography procedures
- Working knowledge of veneer procedures
- Working knowledge of fabricating Essix retainers
- Professional Working Proficiency in English
- Dental Assisting Certificate Level II and registration with the National Dental Assisting Examination Board or proof that you are in the process of obtaining it.
