**Title: Outreach & Engagement Coordinator, OSC Ottawa Office**

**Reports to: Executive Director**

**Summary**

Founded in 1957, the Ottawa Safety Council (OSC) is a well-established leader in road safety education and services. We are a vibrant, charitable, not-for-profit organization. The **Outreach & Engagement Coordinator** will be responsible for recruitment, hiring, documentation, and on-boarding of field staff (300-350 annually) and will report to the Executive Director for the OSC’s Ottawa Office as part of the School Zone Safety Program.

**Responsibilities**
- Uses social media, job boards, and public outreach (e.g. attend job fairs,
community associations meetings, etc.) to advertise field staff opportunities;
- Reviews and evaluates applicant qualifications or eligibility;
- Collects, compiles and analyzes data on local events and community initiatives
for relevance to the OSC’s programs, presenting outreach ideas and suggestions
to the Program Manager;
- Coordinates and participates in special events, community fairs, farmers
markets and trade shows including informational booths, displays and other
related materials;
- Coordinates and participates in the hiring process for all field staff;
- Supports the on-boarding of field staff;
- Responsible for delivering the Outreach and Engagement KPIs;
- Performs basic data entry as required;
- Maintains & organizes filing systems and contact lists;
- Assists with equipment inventory and maintenance;
**Position Requirements**
- Police Records Check (PRC) with the Vulnerable Sector - PRC can be completed
by the OSC after three (3) months of employment. Employment offer conditional
upon a valid PRC
- English proficiency is required, other languages an asset
- Drivers license and access to a vehicle - required
- Must have a valid Standard First Aid with CPR C certification (OSC provides
- Secondary School Diploma required, ideally post-secondary education in office
administration, human resources, customer service, and / or hospitality would
be an asset
- Experience with community engagement / recruitment an asset
- Strong written and verbal skills
- Works well with others, and takes direction and criticism in a positive manner
- Highly effective project management, prioritization, multi-tasking, and time
management skills to meet deadlines
- Maintain a calm and professional demeanor at all times
- Energetic, self-motivated, and results-oriented
- Politically and culturally sensitive
- Adobe Illustrator and Canva an asset

**Working Conditions**
- Ability to occasionally lift items as heavy as 50 lbs.
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals
- Local travel is required occasionally
- May require occasional weekend or evening work
- Availability to work Monday to Friday in a hybrid work environment (downtown
Toronto-West office)

**Compensation**

**Salary**: $17.98-$25.62 per hour
