**Part Time Camp Counselor - RISE Regenerative Farm & Forest Camp**

Provenance Farms is a regenerative smart farm on 46 acres near Woodstock Ontario who focuses on animal welfare, environment and soil health, food quality, as well as social welfare through the donation of 11% to food banks. It was co-founded by Andrew and Eliana Witchell.

This year the farm is expanding _RISE Regenerative Farm & Forest Camp_, an outdoor full-day program focused on offering campers the opportunity to get outside, make friends, learn about regenerative farming and farming science, build outdoor skills, appreciate nature and have fun. Camp programming is anchored in geology, ecology, regenerative farm practices, STEAM, outdoor skills, and nature appreciation and will encourage campers to be curious and creative.

At our Outdoor Children's Summer Camp, we embody the 5 'E's of Eco-Action: Empathy, Education, Environmental Stewardship, Excitement, and Empowerment. Additionally, we prioritize Eco-Autonomy over Eco-Anxiety, empowering our campers with the skills and positivity needed to become self-reliant stewards of the environment. **What we are looking for**:a friendly, child-engaging, reliable individual who can successfully deliver all aspects of our summer camps, engage with the children, ensure they make friends and connect with nature, while also representing the farm.

This position would be part time throughout July and August. Schedule to be discussed.

**Job Overview**:
A part time position that entails delivering the RISE Regenerative Farm & Forest Summer Day Camps as an active team member. Has responsibilities for curriculum-based program delivery.

Leads approximately 20 campers (1 counselor to 7 camper ratio) per week ranging from 6 to 12 years of age, while occasionally supervising and teaching the Leadership In Training program (kids aged 13-15 years old).

Through strategic leadership and programming, enables children and youth to make friends, develop skills, socialize and build self-esteem. Accountable for day-to-day operations under the guidance of the Directors, ensuring camp activities are safe, educational, inclusive, high quality and meets RISE Regenerative Farm & Forest Camp overall goals and abides by relevant policies and legislation.

**Responsibilities**
- Delivers daily activities across the camp(s), ensuring programming is effective and adapted to camper needs with regards to safety, hygiene, weather, breaks etc.
- Prioritizes child well-being, safety and protection throughout the camp(s). Evaluates situations for potential risks to the safety, protection and well-being of campers and staff, proactively taking mitigating actions to address such risks. (dynamic risk assessments and daily risk evaluations across site)
- Acts as a leader role model, fostering a positive learning environment where people feel included as members of a team and are motivated to work towards common goals.
- Serves as an ambassador for the Farm liaising with staff/parents/campers and resolving any issues with the support of the Director.
- Provides regular updates and feedback to the Director
- Participates in camp staff training.
- Ensures adherence of policies and procedures working closely with other staff to ensure consistency under the guidance of the Director.
- Responsible for effective and efficient communication to all stakeholders including parents, campers and staff.
- Oversees attendance and sign in and sign out procedures.
- Other duties as required.

**Requirements**:

- Must be available to work July 2 - August 23, Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm, excluding holidays. (Mandatory paid training July 2-5.).
- Schedule will include every Monday, other days to be determined as coverage for other staff members, including last minute sick days.
- Has experience with children, preferably in a camp setting.
- Willingness to learn farm and forest curriculum.
- General interest in farming/outdoors/ecology.
- Ability to be physically capable of lifting, willingness to be outside all day; rain or shine.
- Current Standard First Aid with CPR ‘C’ required;
- Driver’s license is required;
