As a
**Smart Building Systems Technician**, your duties will include:

- Install, commission, troubleshoot, service, and inspect RTLS, IoT, DAS, Wi-Fi systems, and other low voltage systems.
- Evaluate, diagnose, and troubleshoot existing installations or utilize as-built documentation were available to correct deficiencies and perform repairs as necessary.
- Respond to customer service calls, scheduled maintenance calls, and emergency calls on a timely basis.
- Perform basic network system configuration and troubleshoot network issues as required.
- Perform predictive and physical site surveys of wireless solutions with guidance from project engineers.
- Complete accurate and detailed service reports, as-built documentation, and field reports.
- Communicate project status with project managers and engineers and provide recommendations to improve methodologies for future deployments.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, technicians, and clients to meet project delivery in a professional manner.
- Travel up to 75% of the time within Canada.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics, Computer Engineer or equivalent.
- Minimum 1-3 years of related experience in wireless and building infrastructure.
- Strong technical knowledge with wired and wireless network systems.
- Strong understanding of RTLS and IoT technologies including ultrasound, UWB, BLE, Wi-Fi, Zigbee, LoRa/LoRaWAN, and cellular IoT.
- Basic understanding and the ability to use scripting and programming solutions for wireless implementations: Python, JavaScript, C.
- Basic understanding of data structures commonly used for integration of networked systems: JSON, XML.
- Basic understanding of APIs and common models: RESTful, WebSockets, HTTP.
- Basic understanding of server architectures and virtualized environments is an asset.
- Industry certifications are an asset: CCNA, CWNA, CWISA, Ekahau, iBwave.
- Ability to carry up to 30 lbs.
- Ability to climb ladders and work from heights.
