**Position Title: Sales Associate**

**Division: Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation**

**Date: September 2024**

**Purpose of Position**
The Sales Associate contributes to the success of the Thunder Bay 50/50 by providing support in customer service, sales generation, and overall store operations. They assist customers, maintain the sales floor, conduct basic retail store operational duties and perform cash reconciliation.

**Scope**
The Sales Associate reports directly to the Manager, Lotteries.

**Responsibilities**
The Sales Associate plays a pivotal role in achieving sales targets and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Providing excellent customer service by assisting shoppers and addressing inquiries.
- Maintaining a well-organized and visually appealing sales floor.
- Actively participating in product knowledge training to effectively communicate product features and benefits to customers.
- Assisting in the execution of sales strategies to meet or exceed targets.
- Collaborating with the sales team to achieve collective goals and support promotional activities.
- Assisting in inventory management, including restocking and merchandise replenishment.
- Operating cash registers, processing transactions accurately, and handling payments in compliance with company policies.
- Upholding store standards for cleanliness and presentation.

**Knowledge, Skills & Abilities**
- Excellent verbal communication and customer interaction skills.
- Adept at multitasking and managing time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and familiarity with point-of-sale systems.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and customer demands.
- Ability to work comfortably in Microsoft Office and GroupWise are imperative. The ability to operate office equipment (i.e. copiers, computers, printers) is also required.

The ability to use Raiser’s Edge is an asset.
- A G-class driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle is required.
- Must be flexible with hours and location of work.

**Qualifications**
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous retail or customer service experience is preferred but not required.
- Demonstrated enthusiasm for sales and customer satisfaction.
- Willingness to learn and develop product knowledge.

Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

**Other Information**
- Salary range: $16.55 - $17.50.
- Work hours: Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on store needs.
- Workplace location: On-site at the retail store or location specified by the employer.
- This position is a 2.5 month temporary, seasonal contract.

**Job Types**: Temporary, Casual, Seasonal
Contract length: 2.5 months

Pay: $16.55-$17.50 per hour
