**Job Summary**
- **The Basic Gist**:_
Hunter & Co. offers a unique-and-refined dining experience in the heart of downtown London, Ontario. With small plates of delectable fare, freshly shucked oysters, and cocktails crafted by bartenders who love cocktails, we want to offer you a night out that you'll be talking about for weeks.
The front-of-house manager works with the Other Bird executive team and operations team to ensure the operational and financial success of Hunter & Co. The front-of-house manager is responsible for Hunter & Co’s day-to-day business operations as well as managing all of Hunter & Co.’s employees. Furthermore, the front-of-house manager is responsible for always ensuring the successful execution of a unique-and-adventurous culinary experience for the hungry and thirsty masses of London.

The Other Bird Inc. is a family of restaurants including _The Mule,_ _Rapscallion Rogue Eatery (Hamilton ON)_ _, _and _Burro (Burlington ON)_.
- Hunter & Co._ is our first venture in London, along side The Mule London. We are excited to bring our young, growing, and fun-loving company to the hungry and thirsty masses of London
**The Job**:
- **Operations (or The Day-To-Day Stuff)**:_
- _**Be the boss**_ : Oversee daily operations, including sales, purchasing, inventory, staffing, training, resolving customer issues, and general supervision.
- _**Follow the rules**:_ Ensure compliance with fire and safety regulations, adherence to the Liquor License Act
- _**Host the party**:_ Coordinate special events in conjunction with sales & marketing team, and be the “face” of Hunter & Co.
- _**Keep people healthy**:_ Ensure safe food handling practices are followed.
- _**Stay in touch**:_ Liaise with The Other Bird executive and operations teams.
- _**Set the calendar**:_ Ensure consistent scheduling in accordance with business needs.
- _**Keep things running**_ : Monitor the general up-keep of the restaurant, audit outsourced cleaners, and assess and report any and all maintenance issue or repairs.
- _**Stock the fridge**:_ Ensure all product ordering is accurate and complete on a weekly basis, including dry goods, liquor/beer/wine, and oysters/cheese/charcuterie.
- _**Mind the flock**:_ Participate in all staff hiring and reviews, in cooperation with the Other Bird’s operations team.
- _**Lead the flock**:_ Work as any position as needed, and guide all staff in improving their working practices by leading by example.
- _**Handle the coin**:_ Complete weekly cashout reconciliations, and ensure gratuities, due backs, and tip outs are distributed accurately and on-time.
- _**Meet the people**:_ Attend meetings, including Other Bird manager meetings, Hunter & Co. manager meetings, and staff meetings
- _**Work with the family**:_ Be familiar with the management staff of all Other Bird outlets; collaborate on staffing, events and overall communication.
- _**Business Management (or The Numbers)**:_
- _**Crunch the numbers**_ : Maintain comprehensive understanding of Hunter & Co.’s operations, and be confident in reporting financial numbers to the Other Bird executive team.
- _**Crunch the numbers (again)**:_ Review monthly statements to ensure that the annual goals are met.
- _**Help further crunch the numbers**:_ Communicate with the Other Bird bookkeeper and HR manager to facilitate payroll and fiscal administration.
- **IMPORTANT NOTE**:_
This is a working-management position which requires the manager to regularly work front-of-house serving and/or bartending shifts on a regular basis while balancing administrative responsibilities.
- **How Much Work & When**:_
- 40-44 hours per week
- Must be able to balance weekly schedule based on business needs.
- Must be able to adjust hours for administrative, social, or other needs outside normal business hours.
- We don’t want you to over-work, and we don’t want you to under-work. We just expect you to manage your time.

- The Other Bird’s Executive Team & Chief Executive Officer
- 5+ years experience in restaurant management is required.
- Experience working in both FOH & BOH environments is required.
- Degree or diploma in Hospitality or Restaurant Management is an asset.
- Corporate training and experience is an asset.
- Fluency in Microsoft Word & Excel, and using Google Drive is required.
- Familiarity with Silverware POS is an asset
