Job Description:

- PLEASE READ EMPLOYMENT STIPULATIONS FOR POSITION PRIOR TO APPLYING_

_ For students to be eligible for CSEP positions, they must be registered in a full-time program, be a domestic fee-paying student, and must be able to demonstrate a financial need by _successfully applying_ for OSAP or out-of-province financial aid funding._

Reporting to the Manager, Student Learning Centre & Libraries, the Student Learning Centre Representative offers excellent front-line customer service, strong communication, and solid problem-solving skills to assist students, Peer Tutors, Coaches, College faculty & staff, and the general public.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Staffs the in-person SLC Kiosk on DARE 2nd floor, providing a wide range of directional inquiries;- Greets & assists students/clients at the SLC Kiosk;- Provides information to peer tutors, coaches and other stakeholders;- Assists students with the DARE District meeting room booking system;- Delivers information in an approachable, trustworthy, and welcoming style;-
- Regularly reads internal communications to keep up to date on position-related information;- Provides feedback, ideas or initiatives to make SLC processes and procedures more efficient and user-friendly.

Requirements for this position include:

- Strong verbal and written English communication skills (other languages are an asset);- Previous front-line, customer/client service work experience;- Sensitivity to diverse student population;- Ability to demonstrate sense of initiative and problem-solving skills;- Must be reliable, dedicated, responsible, and professional;- Ability to use various software platforms, Microsoft Office, Excel, Internet research, etc;- Firm understanding of Student Learning Centre & Algonquin College and its services.

Requirements for this position include: / Employment Stipulations:

- This position is funded through the College Student Employment Program (CSEP). Applicants must be eligible for CSEP.- You must be currently enrolled in a full-time program. The following students are not eligible: Second Career, Apprenticeship Programs, International students, Algonquin College employees paying a reduced tuition, Collaborative programs with the University of Ottawa or Carleton University and all programs that are not Ministry-approved;-
