Literacy Tutor for Students with Learning Difficulties

**Job Overview**

We work with amazingly creative, talented, and intelligent children with language-based learning difficulties (including dyslexia) in a 1:1 format. A library of OG teaching resources is available to minimise lesson preparation time. Staff enjoy a school-term schedule that includes two weeks off at Christmas, one week off at spring break, and an optional five
- or six-week summer teaching schedule. There are opportunities for continued learning and a strong mentoring model is in place to support literacy interventionists as they begin to work with us.

Applicants MUST have an excellent command of the English language and experience working with students in support positions. Training or delivery of math instruction an asset.

**Responsibilities**
- Deliver one-on-one intervention lessons tailored to individual student needs.
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards.
- Utilise our Orton-Gillingham Structured Literacy approach to accommodate different learning styles, including those of students with special education needs.
- Monitor student progress and adapt instructional techniques accordingly.
- Maintain a supportive and encouraging atmosphere to promote student confidence and motivation.
- Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding student progress and areas for improvement.

**Qualifications**
- Strong ability to communicate and articulate in the English language
- Strong educational support skills in literacy
- Experience working with children, especially those with learning difficulties
- Special education experience
- Knowledge of teaching strategies for students with diverse learning needs

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $28.00-$36.00 per hour

Expected hours: 6 - 12 per week

Schedule:
Either Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday, for a minimum of 3 hours and up to 5.5 hours, between 13h30-19h00.
