Option Construction Corp. is currently seeking a **Health Safety & Environmental Coordinator **to be a part of our growing Construction team. Option Construction Corp. is a General Contractor/Petroleum Contractor based out of Spruce Grove AB, specializing in the Downstream Oil and Gas and Commercial Industry. We provide construction, redevelopment, maintenance services and installations throughout
British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario. We take pride in our work, clients, and, most of all, in our professional and talented employees.

**Summary**
As our corporate HSE Coordinator, you will lead all levels of safety development and implementation from office to field, ensuring we are providing the highest level of safety for our employees, trade partners, clients and the public.

Must be organized with the ability to prioritize, is proficient with computers and will have exceptional levels of professionalism, integrity and a strong dedication and commitment to safety.

**Salary**: Negotiable, based on experience.

**Job Duties & Responsibilities include but not limited to**
- Provide all vetting of trade partners
- Provide all new employee onboarding
- Provide and organize safety training to employees
- Complete site assessments and project job observations
- Coach and mentor all field staff while providing resolution to potential problems

and safety issues
- Collaborate with management to provide resources, tools and equipment for the

implementation of safety policies and procedures
- Conduct investigations when required to identify cause and corrective action(s)
- Perform audits and inspections, to maintain compliance and to ensure program

accuracy
- Chair or attend daily/weekly/quarterly safety meetings and safety stand down

meetings
- Lead and oversee all incident investigations
- Lead in the development of all policy and procedure revisions and standards
- Attend pre-construction project meetings, representing all levels of safety and

implementation of
- Attend project kick offs ensuring all hazards have been identified with mitigations

in place
- Continual monitoring of existing overall effectiveness of all policies and procedures
- Lead and/or assist with developing new HSE systems and continue to grow

program
- Help maintain strong, trustworthy, and lasting relationships with our existing and

new clients
- Ensure that the company health and safety policies and procedures are being

followed

**Position Requirements & Skills**
- Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environment regulatory requirements

Provincially and Nationally
- Strong computer skills with experience with computer software, including some of

the following: Windows 7, Pro, 8 or 10, MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project and
SharePoint), and other software as required.
- Driven and success orientated
- Organized, timely, and professional
- Strong Leadership and People management skills
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work well independently and in a high performance, fast-paced team

environment
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Ability to travel as required to perform site visits and audits
- Must be able to pass drug and alcohol test

**Qualifications**
- Minimum designation of CSO or NCSO required with minimum 3 years of direct

work experience as a health and safety lead (Petroleum/Construction industry an
asset)
- Valid driver’s license with clean abstract
- Fluent written and oral English language skills required
