**Summary of Duties**:
Reports to the Division Manager IV or designate. Acts under the direction of an Engineer or Manager. Responsible for management, installation, programming and coordination of hardware and related systems, and provision of ongoing support to the SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems, asset and work order management systems, and electronic document management systems.

**Work Performed**:

- Responsible for contract administration, installation, operation, and maintenance of SCADA systems equipment and related hardware. Coordinates with the contracted operating authority to ensure compatibility of SCADA system hardware, software and communications for the regional water systems.
- Performs all necessary programming including coding for SCADA PLC's (Programmable Logic Controllers), display screen modifications and other related processes. Carries out preventative maintenance programs to SCADA, asset and work order management, and electronic document management related software.
- Reviews and recommends on communications requirements, equipment and software for acquisition and replacement, in consultation with the contracted operating authority.
- Reviews design drawings, process narratives and programming associated with capital projects and/or other operational upgrades to ensure compatibility and compliance with the water systems’ SCADA standards.
- Participates in Factory Acceptance Testing and Site Acceptance Testing of new SCADA related hardware and software to ensure compliance with project design specifications and the water systems’ SCADA standards.
- Updates and maintains SCADA standards on a regular basis.
- Determines, logs, escalates and monitors corrective measures in event of SCADA system equipment failures.
- Maintains all archival information for equipment programming, SCADA document management, and related drawings. Maintains and updates operational manuals and associated procedures.
- Prepares statistical and status reports for the SCADA, asset and work order management, and document management systems. Assists in the interpretation of reports as it relates to condition of systems and potential improvements that may be required to such systems and hardware.
- Provides technical guidance and training to users regarding features and uses of SCADA related hardware and software.
- Maintains working knowledge of current personal computer platforms applicable to the SCADA operation. i.e. Windows Server, Windows XP
- Performs related duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:
Three year Community College Control Engineering Technologist Diploma.

**Experience**:
Over five years' related experience, with a minimum of three in a municipal water and/or wastewater environment.

**Specialized Training & Licenses**:
**Skills and abilities in the following areas are necessary**:

- Demonstrated skills in technical writing and technical training.
- Demonstrated experience with Rockwell Automation RSLogix 500 and 5000 programming software, RSViewSE, VantagePoint and Asset Centre
- Cisco Network Certification
- A+ Certification
- Demonstrated skills in PLC and SCADA programming.
- Water Treatment Operator Certification a benefit (minimum Level 1 certification)
- Valid Driver's Licence-Class G

**Compensation & Other Information**:
$62,898 - $91,424 (Level 15)

This posting is for one (1) permanent full-time position.

Current hours of Work: Monday - Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Work Arrangement: Hybrid. Subject to change in accordance with business requirements.
