**Key Responsibilities**:
The HSE Administrator is accountable for assisting in the development of safety policies and procedures, participating in incident investigations, maintenance of online prequalification databases, scheduling of training and pre-employment testing, recommending and implementing solutions to current safety issues, data collection, data entry and database management as it pertains to health and safety.
**Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:
Setup and maintain health and safety recordkeeping to track compliance with health and safety systems and processes.
Gather, review, and distribute safety-related statistical information.
Organize, maintain, digitize, and coordinate records and files.
Perform data entry and assist in the compilation of data for various reports.
Maintain health and safety action register and incident recordkeeping system.
Prepare daily/weekly/monthly health and safety statistical reports including as required reports.
Provide external WCB Claims Manager with incident and return to work documentation as required.
Complete Employer report of injury on the online WCB Reporting system in partnership with the HSE Manager.
Assist with new hire safety orientations and onboarding, schedules safety training, and tracks training completion.
Ensure that all applicable certifications, reports, and forms required to administer an effective safety program are obtained from employees.
Maintain training matrix, employee files regarding training certificates, and competency assessments.
Track employee participation with specific activities such as meetings, inspections, hazard ID’s, behavior observations and other duties as required.
Aid in the preparation of safety alerts and safety bulletins.
Maintain and audit incident reporting and record-keeping of the departments SharePoint site.
Work closely with the HSE Manager keeping the manager informed of all HSE administration issues that arise, which could impact achieving the goal of zero accidents, create legal liability, and/or affect legislative compliance.
Other Duties as assigned from time to time to as part of continuous improvement and career growth.
**Job Requirements**:
Excellent experience in an administrative environment, preferably 3+ years as an office administrator
Minimum 1 year of experience as a Safety Administrator
Minimum of 1 year experience working in transportation safety
Post-secondary education in a related field
Demonstrated intermediate level of skill in MS Office products
Capable of multi-tasking and working to demanding deadlines
Self-starter with a proven ability to work independently
Proven ability to adhere to tight deadlines, particularly in high pressure situations
Ability to constructively participate and interface with all management levels
Excellent organizational, planning, and scheduling skills
Strong oral and written communication ability in English
Valid Class 5 driver’s licence
