Paper Planes will have a training area at the Pacific Autism Family Network Hub in Richmond, however, our main location is located pre-security at YVR (Vancouver International Airport).

**ABOUT US**:
The Pacific Autism Family Network (PAFN) is a Centre of Excellence and network of supports for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families across the province. The PAFN’s core purpose is to be a Knowledge Centre: Bringing together state of the art resources for research, information, learning, assessment, treatment and support; and building capacity to address the lifespan needs of individuals with ASD and related disorders.

**ABOUT THE POSITION**:
The **Cafe Manager** will be responsible for ensuring efficient and effective cafe operations, keeping track of finances, scheduling, and ensuring sufficient stock of items and supplies. This coffee and food service outlet will employ individuals with neurodiversity to work and gain experience in the Food & Beverage industry. Once someone has gained enough training & experience to be able to go onto other employment, we will try to find them meaningful paid employment within the field. This will open up placements within Paper Planes for new team members to receive this opportunity.

The Café Manager would provide training to these individuals in the Café, with some supervision and guidance from our employment coach and Manager of employment Initiatives.

This is a full time position that will require flexibility in schedule. Paper Planes Café will be open 7 days a week from 8am - 8pm.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Hands-on day-to-day operations;
- Manage and maximize the monthly sales activities;
- Contribute positively to a meaningful, productive, supportive environment;
- Create a comfortable, happy atmosphere for customers;
- Maintain professional attire / appearance at all times while at work;
- Ensure the highest quality products and customer service;
- Process incoming payments and manage and maintain inventory;
- Conduct training, track performance progress, etc. when business is sufficient to warrant;
- Order food / merchandise / supplies from suppliers as needed;
- Provide some assistance with booking inquiries for meeting and event spaces located within the Centre, and assist with any required space setup.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Barista knowledge / experience required;
- Two or more years of related work experience in a retail environment;
- Managerial level experience is an asset;
- Ability to work with diverse populations;
- Experience working with individuals with ASD and related disorders is an asset;
- Ability to understand basic financial reports;
- Experience with Micros, or similar system, is a definite asset;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills;
- Exceptional organization and time management skills;
- Able to collect data for purposes of program evaluation;
- Food Safe Level 1 certificate;
- Clear criminal record check;
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada;
- Must be fully fluent in the English language, written and spoken.
