Cafe 85, an exciting brand-new Cafe / Bistro is looking for a prep cook with good knife skills and cooking knowledge to join our team at the commissary kitchen. You must have a legal status to work in Canada with cooking experience in casual fine dining experience. Large-scale production experience is a must, and you must possess a positive attitude and passion for food.
Our prep cooks will take active roles following the guidance of the executive chef to prepare everything with standardized recipes, set up prepared sauces, vegetables, meat, and seafood according to the chef’s expectations. To be successful in this job, you will need a complete understanding of food safety and sanitation with high organization and time management standards. You must work well with others and be self-motivated to perform daily tasks allocated by the management based on the production schedule.
**Duties**:
- Prepare sauces, dressings, meat and seafood in compliance with established recipes and standards
- Ensure all production quantities are met in a timely manner
- Update the production log and list up the order list for the next day production
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace
- Properly label and FIFO all inventory
**Requirements**:
- Proven large scale food production experience in casual fine dining setting (ideally more than 2 years)
- Valid Food Handler Certification
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
