**Role Summary**

**Roles and Responsibilities**

**Event Floral & Decor Design and Execution**

Lead the complete event floral & decor design process in a unique horticultural conservatory venue setting for a variety of event styles including weddings, socials, corporate meetings, and special events.

Manage event floral production & deconstruction, staffing requirements and scheduling for the events you are assigned to.

Coordinate floral & decor materials orders in a timely manner to ensure sufficient inventory, while budgeting extra time in case of supplier error or poor-quality floral stock.

Coordinate outsourced decor rental orders in a timely manner to ensure delivery in sufficient time.

Ensure floral production runs smoothly, efficiently, and generates maximum revenue & margins.

Maintain updated inventory of Aquatopia decor stock; make recommendations for stock replenishment or renewal, based on upcoming decor trends.

Clean & maintain Aquatopia decor elements in organized & labelled containers to ensure their longevity and ease of access.

Maintain clean & an organized workspace.

Provide post-event reporting to monitor and track results.

**Client Interactions, Sales and Marketing**

Meet with clients in person or virtually during initial floral & decor design consultation, and again, to review and finalize client’s floral & decor decisions.

Create and present to clients marketing materials (i.e. photography, catalogues, samples etc.), and floral & decor proposals, complete with representative floral & decor from the Aquatopia photography archive and social media.

Respond to all communications conducting oneself as both advisor and company ambassador.

Build upon and continue to develop an existing sales & marketing plan to smoothly guide potential clients through the floral & decor sales and event planning process.

Assume responsibility for all communications and networking in support of the floral department and assist with development of new opportunities to build exposure and awareness.

Encourage revenue growth by inspiring clients to purchase additional, but suitable, floral and decor elements.

**Client Management**

Become the reliable point of contact for each client for all their floral & decor needs.

Encourage client feedback and address client concerns in a timely manner.

Identify client’s needs and wants.

Deter clients, during the design process, from making poor floral design or decor choices, based on your professional experience and knowledge, facility limitations, and event appropriateness.

Set a positive example for client relations.

**Skills/Competencies Qualifications**

Minimum 3-5 years experience in the floral design & decor industry. Please present your past work in a detailed portfolio.

Post secondary education and/or training in the floral and event industry.

Strong social media skills and computer proficiency on all Apple devices.

Confident in a leadership capacity with the ability to act calmly during adverse and unexpected circumstances.

Effective at problem solving and decision-making with good insight and judgment.

Strong initiative and customer service orientation.

Ability to use sound judgment, discretion and professional integrity.

High energy, positive, professional attitude, pride in work.

Excellent written and oral interpersonal communication with strong marketing and communications skills.

Great team member: willingness to roll up sleeves and pitch in to help colleagues when needed.

Must be available to conduct floral & decor meetings with clients, often requiring evening and/or weekend work.

Must be able to multi-task in a busy environment, often with distractions.

Must know how to operate a vertical mast lift or be willing to learn necessary skills to operate installation equipment for aerial decor installation.

Must possess G2 driver’s licence.

Wage: From $22.00/hour plus commission, wage to be negotiated pending experience.
