Food & Beverage Supervisor

West Vancouver, Canada Cypress Mountain Full time

This position relates to the operation of the 650-seat cafeteria dining area and coffee shop in the Cypress Creek Lodge as well as 3 outdoor food truck style outlets located in the Cypress Mountain Downhill Ski Area.

A car is required for this role, supervisor shift times run outside the shuttle service times.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (include but not limited to the following):

- Assist in hiring and onboarding all Food and Beverage department staff.
- Train all supervisors, cashiers, Baristas and cooks in all front-end operations, policies and procedures.
- Assist with scheduling grill staff, cashiers and baristas to ensure adequate staff coverage in all outlets.
- Open/Close food service facilities and insure they are operationally ready in accordance with established administrative tasks, workforce requirements, security measures, cleaning and maintenance procedures
- Manage workforce resources as required to suit the requirements of the shift and the F&B outlets
- Complete reports and shift reconciliations tasks as assigned by the F&B Manager
- Ensures all team members are trained prior to assigning tasks

**QUALIFICATIONS/COMPETENCIES**:

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Mature personality and able to provide leadership
- Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time
- Exceptional hygiene and grooming habits
- Ability to anticipate and adapt to fluctuating business levels
- Ability to resolve team members issues and conduct disciplinary actions in a professional manner
- Ability to inspire and motivate food production and service members

**EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE**:

- 2 - 3 years supervisory experience in a high volume, fast paced food service environment
- Knowledge of restaurant equipment and tools

**CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS**:

- Must be able to legally work in Canada
- Valid driver’s license and reliable, insured vehicle required
- Minimum Food Safe Level 1 (Food Safe Level 2 is an asset)
- Serving it Right Certification
