**The Role**

Reporting directly to the Purchasing Coordinator, Inventory Control team members are responsible for receiving products from a variety of vendors at the receiving dock. They will be accepting incoming product and need to assess it to ensure all food safety requirements have been met during shipping. Inventory Control needs to complete all required paperwork and record keeping ensuring adequate reporting and tracking. This role will assist the Production Assistants and Chefs by staging productions for catering production.

**Qualifications and Experience**
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Forklift or other relevant Material Handling certification
- Experience in the food industry preferred.
- Working experience in ERP/SAP system an asset.
- Lifting or moving up to 50 lbs may be required.
- Able to communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- G license with Clean Driver Abstract

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Prepare receiving dock to accept incoming product (hygienic and within code date and temperature)
- Match incoming product with purchase orders.
- Verify product expiration codes, nut free, pork free and shell fish free.
- Inspect product to ensure saleable condition with acceptable code dating.
- Operate a Forklift or Electric Pallet Jack in a safe manner to move received product.
- Maintain a safe work environment.
- Process all required paperwork and maintain adequate records for reporting and tracking.
- Oversee the acceptance of secure and accurate loading and unloading of deliveries.
- Sort and distribute incoming shipments.
- Perform inventory count of items on a monthly basis.
- Report discrepancies to immediate supervisor and production personnel
- Follow current standards and procedures.
- Problem solve for any cases of missing documents, shipments and deliveries.
- Maintain organized work area according to policies, procedures and safety regulations.
- Make pick up with a company vehicle from suppliers as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Demonstrated ability to operate material handling equipment including forklift truck.
- Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently.
- Attention to detail in all areas of work.
- Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills.
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
- Work is performed in a combination of environments, must be comfortable working in a cold work environment
