**Position Overview**:
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious **Top Man** to join our civil construction team. The Top Man plays a critical role in supporting underground utility installations by coordinating with pipelayers and operators, ensuring materials and tools are properly managed, and maintaining a safe work environment.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Assist and direct crews during the installation of underground utilities (water, sewer, storm).
- Ensure proper placement of pipe, shoring, and materials in the excavation.
- Maintain clear communication with equipment operators, pipelayers, and laborers.
- Guide machinery and hand signals to operators during excavation and backfilling.
- Monitor trench conditions and ensure safe access/egress for workers.
- Handle and organize tools, equipment, and materials on site.
- Follow all company and regulatory safety procedures.

**Qualifications**:

- Previous experience as a Top Man or in civil construction preferred.
- Strong understanding of trench safety and underground utility work.
- Ability to work effectively with pipelayers, equipment operators, and labor crews.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Physically fit and able to work outdoors in varying conditions.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and productive job site.
