Mortgage Underwriter

**Current Opportunity**

Indigoblue Mortgage Investment Corporation (“Indigoblue MIC”), a member of Indigoblue Group of Companies, is currently seeking a dynamic individual to fill the position of **Underwriter**.

**Overview of Position**

**Responsibilities**
- Effectively communicate with internal staff and external contacts including mortgage brokers, customers, solicitors, appraisers to ensure transactions are processed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Managing high work volumes to meet short timelines with a high level of quality and due diligence.
- Maintain an updated internal tracking platform to accurately reflect status of each active mortgage file.
- Proactively follow up with clients and brokers on maturing mortgage files ensuring all relevant paperwork is received in a timely fashion.
- Prioritize workflow to efficiently review new deals, manage client renewals, and conduct post review quality assurance checks on funded files.
- Adhere to IB MIC’s code of conduct, policies & procedures, and internal underwriting guidelines.
- Other duties as may be assigned in assisting other operations within the group of companies.

**Qualifications**
- Minimum 2 years experience with mortgage lending and underwriting is required.
- Private / alternative lending experience is an asset.
- Must be energetic, driven, and able to think creatively.
- Effective verbal and written communications skills.
- Results oriented with the ability to excel in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong track record in meeting deadlines and being organized.
- Strong multi-tasking skills
- Time Management skills, ability to self organize, prioritize, and manage variable workloads
- Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong Customer service skills
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- A great attitude and willingness to learn.

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Etobicoke, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- private / alternative lending: 1 year (preferred)
- mortgage underwriting: 2 years (required)
- underwriting & credit analysis: 2 years (required)
