**Cataraqui Heights Retirement Residence** is currently looking for a full time temporary **Assistant Director of Care** to join our team

*12 months maternity leave coverage*

As the **Assistant Director of Care** you will be accountable to the Director of Care for the day to day management of the nursing department and resident care services. You will ensure the delivery of optimal care and services.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide high-quality patient care by administering medications and performing nursing duties.
- Conduct phlebotomy and manage medical records using Epic or Cerner systems.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop care plans for patients, including those with dementia and pediatric needs.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, including First Aid and CPR certifications, while maintaining effective communication with patients and families.
- Oversee care in various settings, including nursing homes, hospitals, and home care environments.

**Requirements**:

- Current registration as a RPN at the relevant nurses college
- Possess current First Aid/CPR certificate
- Experience in geriatric, rehabilitation or long-term care nursing is desirable
- Must have knowledge of the nursing process
- Post-graduate studies in geriatrics is desirable
- Must have good leadership and communication skills
- Possession of skill in planning, coordinating, and supervising a comprehensive nursing care program
