The Gardens at HCP is a public garden for learning in Saanich, BC. The Horticulture Centre of the Pacific (HCP) is a not-for-profit society focused on the provision of horticulture education and the development and maintenance of 103 acres of educational gardens and conservation lands.

**General Duties to include**:

- Collaborate in developing a fun, creative, hands-on, and interactive outdoor garden camp program
- Support the program delivery along with other staff and volunteers
- Manage the Summer Camp site set up
- Support facilitation and leadership of summer camp programs independently and collaboratively
- Maintain the HCP Kids Garden and spaces through regular daily activities and duties
- Value and practice collaboration for a fun and interactive learning experience
- Have and support positive experiences working with children and youth
- Be knowledgeable in natural environmental systems, including food production
- Accept responsibility to further grow personal knowledge to better support their role
- Be committed to providing exceptional experiences for all participants
- Practice a strong work ethic, including be diligence, responsibility, and promptness
- Have excellent communication and technological skills
- Provide their own laptop
- Have dependable transportation

**Applicants must**:

- Be 15 or older at the start of the employment
- Complete a Criminal Record Check
- Have, or obtain before the position’s start date, a current Emergency First Aid Certificate
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment
- Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
- Be available for the duration of programming requirements between June 23 - August 16, 2025.

**Terms of Employment**:

- Position Duration: June 23 - August 16, 2025
- (1 week of orientation/planning, 7 weeks of camp delivery, and one day of camp take down)
- Wage: $18.50 per hour
- Working Days: Monday to Friday, 8:15AM - 4:15PM

**Job Type**: Seasonal
Contract length: 8 weeks

Pay: $18.50 per hour
