**Recreation Summer Camp Counsellor**
**(Full Time, Seasonal)**

**June 23rd-August 22nd 2025**

**Key Responsibilities**:
- Facilitate activities to assigned camp groups, with participants ranging in ages between 4-15
- High energy, enthusiasm and commitment to providing quality programming
- Follow Ontario’s guidelines for Summer Camp Operations and adhere to BGC Hamilton-Halton’s Policies &
- Procedures
- Provide and maintain consistent supervision of assigned campers within ratio
- Ensure that all equipment is functional and is in safe working condition
- Create and facilitate general camp activities as assigned and complete administrative tasks in a timely
- manner
- Help ensure the safety and security of the members and assist in responding to critical incidents as outlined
- in organizations policies and procedures
- Maintain professional relationships with peers, members, volunteers, and parents
- Communicate with parents and caregivers with respect to campers’ daily successes and challenges
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with teammates
**To be eligible for this Canada Summer Jobs position, applicants must be**:
- Between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment period
- A Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or have refugee protection
- Legally entitled to work in Canada, with a valid Social Insurance Number
- Have a commitment to the Clubs mission, Vision and Core Values
- Experience with children and/or in a camp setting preferred
- Strong supervision, facilitation and program planning skills
- Good decision making and problem-solving skills
- Adaptability and ability to work in high pressure situations
- Provide a clear Vulnerable Sector Check
- Have valid First Aid/CPR Level C (Red Cross preferred)
**Wage: $17.20/hr**
