**WHAT YOU’LL DO**:
The Patient Flow Supervisor at PRHC is responsible for providing direction, leadership, support, and guidance and actively performs and coordinates all activities related to the flow of patients within PRHC 7 days a week, 365 days a year. The PFS makes operational decisions that ensure all admitted patients are assigned to the most appropriate bed the first time, and that patient preferred accommodation is optimized (as able according to IPAC/availability). Using EPIC, our state-of-the-art CIS program, the PFS is responsible for registering patients, assigning beds, reviewing charts, planning, problem solving, working with other Health Care Professionals at PRHC. The PFS also collaborates with other health centers to repatriate/transfer patients and/or send/receive patients to/from PRHC by following our repatriation agreements and transfer of care protocols.
The Patient Flow Supervisor acts as delegate for program managers when they are not on-site and warrant similar respect and autonomy in their decision making (with MOC/DOC support after-hours).
**WHAT YOU’LL BRING**:
- Degree or Diploma in nursing required
- Minimum 5 years Nursing/clinical knowledge and experience required
- Current licensure with governing regulatory body required
- Minimum of 5 years hospital experience required
- Medical certificates/change management/surge management certifications/training preferred
- Leadership experience required
WHO YOU ARE:
- Clinical terminology/understanding of clinical processes and patient acuity
- Knowledge of utilization management terms, strategies and/or tools
- Confidence to make critical decisions expeditiously, and facilitate the implementation and ongoing evaluation of these decisions and be accountable for outcomes
- Leadership experience with strong leadership skills to promote a team environment and a focus on patient service
- Human resources and financial management skills are an asset
- Demonstrated expertise and success in change management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent conflict resolution skills to investigate and resolve problems
- Demonstrated commitment to continued education
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
- Typing skills are an asset
- Communicate electronically and in-person in a professional way
