**Position Overview**

The Payroll Clerk will be responsible for reviewing time entry through the company ERP (PSA), tracking of absences, and preparation of hours & earnings to be submitted to payroll. To be successful as a payroll clerk you must be comfortable working with numbers and communicating with other departments. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, ability to multi-task and a can-do attitude are all key.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Verify employee time entries in PSA
- Communicate with department managers on missing hours
- Communicate with departments to clarify information related to employee hours
- Support vacation coverage when Payroll Manager is away or there is over-flow work due to high volume
- Process terminations, generate record of employment, and complete timely payroll tasks when Payroll Manager is unavailable
- Participate in projects as needed

**Requirements**:

- 1+ year experience in payroll and/or human resources
- Experience with UKG (UltiPro/Ultimate Kronos Group) or other benefit/payroll software is considered an asset
- Experience with Dynamics or PSA is considered an asset
- Strong understanding of Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Understanding of payroll timelines, practices, and employment laws as they relate to pay
- Post secondary education in human resources, payroll, accounting, or related field an asset
- Proactive mindset and desire to provide exceptional internal customer service
- Excellent communication skills, ability to communicate professionally and efficiently
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and follow through
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality

**Working Conditions**:

- Office or hybrid-based role
- Working in front of a computer and on the phone regularly
- Must be available on bi-weekly pay Mondays
