Finance Manager

**JOB PURPOSE**
Managing and overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department. Monitoring and analyzing accounting data and producing financial reports or statements. Establishing and enforcing proper accounting methods, policies and principles

**DUTIES**:

- Provide a leadership role in all aspects of the company’s financial operations and manage Treasury functions
- Provide accurate and timely financial information and reports to facilitate the decision-making process and ensure the success of the corporation
- Oversee the operation of the Accounting Department and lead other administrative functions
- Provide monthly information and analysis for the Management Team
- Provide monthly and quarterly reporting as required by the bank, ensuring covenants are met
- Responsible for the annual budget process, providing monthly reviews, and implementing Business plans and any other reporting as requested
- Provide analysis of cash flow, operating costs and variances
- Coordinate annual engagement of the Company with external auditors to include SR&ED, set and prioritize goals and objectives for direct reports and themselves
- Perform analysis on various company projects and plans and provide alternatives and recommendations
- Liaise with legal representation on corporate issues. Review of legal contracts as requested
- Establish and maintain relationships with banks, or other financial partners
- Ensure adequate insurance coverage is in place, thereby minimizing risks
- Review standard costs, including appropriate overhead allocations
- Periodic review of product margins and advise management as necessary
- Any other financial reporting as per President or Vice Presidents request
- Adhere to and enforce all policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook
- Adhere to and ensure compliance with ISO/TS 16949
- Plan effectively to ensure all assigned duties are completed on schedule, including organizing and updating documents and files according to job function
- Champion and participate in continuous improvement projects
- Actively participate in and promote Lessons Learned activities
- Maintain confidentiality of company meetings, discussions and decisions
- Complete individual performance reviews in a timely manner
- Ensure that all team members understand their responsibilities and are held accountable for completing them through coaching, performance reviews, and formal discipline when necessary
- Support other MPC departments where possible
- Promote, develop and maintain safe work practices and ensure compliance with them
- Support the Joint Health & Safety Committee as needed
- Ensure the safety of all Team Members as stated in the Occupational Health & Safety Act
- Promote MPC’s core values and actively contribute to a positive and rewarding team environment
- Other duties as assigned

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA)
- 5+ years related experience in a manufacturing environment, managing financials manufacturing accounting systems, standard cost accounting, budgeting and treasury functions
- Strong Leadership and supervisory skills
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
- In depth knowledge of financial, MRP/ERP and integrated accounting systems
- Proficient in MS Office, with advanced Excel skills
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
