PARTNER ASSAULT RESPONSE & BACK ON TRACK PROGRAM COORDINATOR

John Howard Society of Waterloo-Wellington (JHSWW) is looking for a new team member to join our Back on Track and Partner Assault Response Program teams. Applications are currently being accepted for a permanent Partner Assault Response & Back On Track Program Coordinator working 35 hours a week, scheduled between Monday to Saturday. The position is based in the Kitchener office. The incumbent must be open to working a flexible shift per week including working evenings and Saturdays. While reporting to the Program Director, the incumbent needs to work collaboratively with the Senior Coordinators of the Back-on-Track and Partner Assault Response programs. Responsibilities:
- **Co-facilitate the provincially recognized Partner Assault Response program through group and individual sessions employing counselling models aimed at reducing abusive behaviors in intimate partner relationships while building healthy relationship skills**:
- **Evaluate and monitor participant behaviours, cognitions, stages of change and motivation inrelation to goals and the effects of behaviours on partners, children as well as the participant**:
- **Maintain case files including case management and/or clinical notes; prepare all requiredletters and/or reports**:
- **Follow program standards to maintain safety of group participants, victims and partners**:
- **Attend team meetings and required training**:
- **Conduct Back on Track (BOT) in-person assessments; conduct BOT telephone follow-upappointments**:
- **Co-facilitate treatment groups and education groups for Back on Track**:
- **Other duties as assigned**
The following are essential skills, abilities and requirements for this position:
- **A Bachelor’s degree in a human service field (i.e. social work, psychology, nursing); addictionsspecific training preferably with three years’ experience providing therapeutic and psycho-educational services for adults**:
- **At least three years’ group facilitation experience**:
- **A thorough knowledge of current domestic assault and addictions treatment modalities,intimate partner abuse, social learning, power and control dynamics and the effects of abuseon men, women and children**:
- **An understanding of the policies and procedures of local police, Crown Attorney’s office,courts, probation and parole as they relate to the court process for domestic violence offenceswould be an asset**:
- **Experience working with people involved in domestic assault situations and people sufferingfrom mental health issues and drug or alcohol addictions**:
- **An ability to effectively model egalitarian thinking, particularly related to gender equality**:
- **Member in good standing (or eligible for registration) with an appropriate regulatory body (e.g.Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers) preferred**:
- **Current clearance from a criminal records check. Must be able to meet criminal and otheroffence screening criteria necessary for the Agency to maintain its contracts.**:
- **Demonstrated assessment, client engagement, motivational counselling, group facilitation,non-crisis intervention, adult education and treatment skills**:
- **Demonstrated computer proficiency in Microsoft Office® including Outlook, Excel, PowerPointand Word, EMHWare and/or other client file management software; internet search tools; anduse of connectivity and collaboration platforms (e.g. Zoom) for virtual programming andmeetings.**:
- **Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team**:
- **A valid driver’s license, personal vehicle and insurance are required.**
Compensation: The current starting Annual Salary is $49,322($27.10/hr.); Vacation: 4 weeks/year; Competitive Group Benefits. Other Benefits include Pension (after 2 years); Employee Recognition Program & Staff Awards Program
