We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled 6-month temporary **Maintenance Worker** to join our team at St. Michael's Health Group based out of our new Fenwyck Heights Independent Living Community at 260 Pioneer Rd, Spruce Grove, Alberta. Reporting to the Supervisor, Maintenance, this role involves a variety of maintenance, repair, and cleaning duties to ensure a safe, well-maintained environment for our residents and staff. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong work ethic and attention to detail in building maintenance, grounds-keeping, and customer service.
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- General Building Maintenance & Repairs: Perform minor repairs, including changing light bulbs, replacing hinges, caulking, adjusting equipment, and unblocking sinks, painting, wall patching, etc.
- Facilities Support: Set up rooms for events, move furniture, and maintain sidewalks, driveways, and parking lots if necessary.
- Safety Checks: Conduct fire extinguisher checks, monitor HVAC systems, and record water temperatures.
- Customer Service: Maintain respectful communication with residents, their families, and the healthcare team.
- On-Call Duties: Participate in rotating weekend on-call shifts to handle urgent maintenance needs.
**EDUCATION**:
- High School Diploma required.
- At least one year of experience in general maintenance and grounds-keeping preferred.
- Basic mechanical and gardening skills, strong verbal and written communication, excellent customer service skills.
- Valid Driver's License, Criminal Record Check, and the ability to follow health and safety protocols.
