Tufford Manor Retirement Residence is currently looking for a Part-Time / Casual Dietary & Cook.

Tufford Manor Retirement Residence is looking for a Dietary / Cook to help us provide for the nutritional needs of our guests. We are looking for a reliable dietary aide to join our team. You will be responsible for the preparation, presentation, delivery, and serving of nutritious and healthy food to the members of our residential facility. You will need experience in food preparation, and understand the importance of following all health and sanitary precautions needed for food service. An understanding of quality customer service is important. In this role, you may also cook and serve food that follows specific, predetermined standards and nutritional or dietary guidelines. This role is essential to the health of our guests, so we are looking for someone with experience in food preparation. Applicants with experience in elderly care or cooking for individuals with strict dietary restrictions is highly desirable.

**Dietary / Cook Duties and Responsibilities**
- Clean and set tables for residents
- Set up any seasonal decorations, candles, or table cloths
- Greet residents and assist them to their tables
- Deliver prepared trays to tables or rooms
- Assist residents with removing lids, arranging drinking straws, and locating utensils
- Remove dirty dishes, trays, and utensils
- Deliver used dishes, trays, and utensils to the kitchen for cleaning
- Scrape, stack, or load dishes, utensils, glassware into the dishwasher as needed
- Vacuum, sweep, or mop dining room
- Remove trash and recycling; replace trash bags
- Clean up resident spills as needed
- Clear table as residents complete their meals
- Follow and maintain all sanitation and safety procedures
- Prepare kitchen and food preparation for the next meal
- Preparing ingredients for the shift; washing vegetables, chopping, seasoning meat, etc.
- Preparing oven, utensils, and grill for shift
- Cooking order according to food health and safety standards
- Recommending ideas for specials or seasonal dishes
- Dressing order for presentation
- Storing all food properly
- Sanitizing and cleaning work stations and utensils

**Qualifications**:

- Current Food Handlers Certificate
- Previous Experience with Seniors
- Physically able to stand and move during the length of shift; able to bend and kneel through shift; able to pick up debris from the floor
- Able to carry 25 or more pounds
- Friendly polite and courteous demeanor
- Able to take directions
- Evidence of a demonstrated client centered approach and ability to work with families.
- Ability to practice collaboratively with other members of the direct care team
- Ability to communicate professionally and compassionately with Staff, clients and families
- Demonstrated knowledge of infection control

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent, Casual

Pay: $20.26-$22.16 per hour
