**Position Purpose**:
The District Operations Manager is accountable for the execution of core Canadian Store Operations initiatives within their respective district(s). They are responsible for teaching, coaching, and training store leadership and associates in their district(s) regarding the implementation of these initiatives without adding complexity to the store’s operation. The DOM will serve as the operational expert for those areas within their position responsibilities in their given district(s) and act as a conduit for information between the stores and the Store Support Center. In partnership with the District Manager, Store Managers and other district partners, the DOM is directly accountable for operational KPI’s within their district(s). Managing multiple projects at once, the DOM is accountable to deliver results by influencing all levels of business partners and developing district and store operational action plans. While supporting key operational, asset protection, environmental and health & safety responsibilities, the DOM will also remain focused on managing and addressing district-specific business objectives in partnership with their DM(s).

**Position Responsibilities**:

- Deliver sustainable results and drive accountability in a position of influence with no direct authority.
- Accountable to provide coaching and education for store leaders on operational process through the OPR.
- Responsible to develop district specific strategic plans which will support process and productivity gains in store operations.
- Accountable for ensuring the successful execution and sustainability of key operational process within COM (D31), Front End (D90), Back End (D93) & Fulfillment (D4,38)
- Educate, train and coach the stores on FE, BE, Fulfillment & COM processes.
- Responsible to support key district KPIs and activities including monthly and quarterly operational walks, meetings and audits.
- Responsible to enable and engage their stores to deliver a best in class customer service experience.
- Accountable to key operational processes and procedures directly related to shrink mitigation and for District(s) level shrink performance.
- Educate, train and coach the stores on shrink mitigation within the back end, sales floor and front end processes.
- IAP follow up within the OPR process.
- Responsible for inventory week 2 prep walks.
- Work closely and ensure strong partnership with the AP team.
- Support the stores through key AP shrink initiative roll outs.
- Responsible for executing Environmental and Health & Safety Programs
- Responsible to follow up on safety focus areas within the OPR walks while also ensuring consistent execution of health & safety committee and in focus committee results.
- DOM to continue to provide insight regarding costs associated with WC & GL. Discuss trends & causal factors while sharing best practices to mitigate risk and reduce overall claims.
- Responsible to monitor and control district level P&L for all store controllable operations and occupancy expenses.
- Support the DM and SM teams to develop strategies and process to leverage expenses.
- Educate, train and coach the stores on expense controls.
- Work closely and ensure there is strong partnership with finance and cross functional partners that influence operating expenses.
- Support the DM on action plans associated with monthly P&L calls.
- Responsible to educate, train and coach the stores in processes that mitigate risk in GM erosion through the clearance, write-off and store markdown processes.
- Lead successful implementation and sustainability of new divisional operations initiatives and My Projects initiatives within the assigned district(s).
- Analyze and improve upon processes in the efforts of simplification and improved productivity.
- Strategic partnership and participation in the development and planning of operational initiatives with Core Operations and cross functional partners within the SSC.
- Take an active role in the SPP through alignment and engagement within key strategic projects in Canadian Core Operations.

**Experience/Knowledge required**:

- Must fulfill minimum time-in-position and performance code requirements of M+.
- Undergraduate degree in business or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 8+ years related experience in a high volume retail environment preferred.
- Advanced communication skills including verbal, written and presentation skills; ability to create open channels of communication and adapt messages to suit the audience.
- Advanced knowledge of HD systems, SOP and overall store operating process.
- Ability to build relationships and influence leaders at multiple levels of the organization including SM, DM, RDO and RVP.
- Intermediate computer skills in MS Office Suite (including Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
