Interim Assistant Brewing Manager, Training

**Role Profile**
The Assistant Brewing Manager will support in fulfilling the Brewing schedule, managing the flow of product to packaging and the training and development of the Brewing Team. This role reports to the Brewing Manager.
**How you will make an impact**:
- Training new and existing brewing staff on all aspects of the brewing process with a focus on improving safety, output and quality as well as reducing cost, including but not limited to: cellaring, brewhouse operation and filtration.
- Building and maintaining the brewing department training matrix along with providing accurate tracking using Humi
- Updating Encompass (ECP) with any brewing related production activities, ensuring all information being entered is accurate and done in a timely manner. As well, investigating and addressing any issues that may be encountered
- Managing the day to day operations of the brewing team on the floor. This includes trying to troubleshoot any immediate issues, ensuring the team is staying on task, organized, and working efficiently and coordinating the shift schedule
- Implement and monitor initiatives for continuous production and quality improvement in safety, efficiency, product development, process, and profitability
- Report quality control issues to Manager, Brewing, VP Operations and Quality Control Manager
- Ensure adherence to Health and Safety standards of the facility, equipment, and employees
- Support and assist with day to day brewing operations as required
**How your time will be organized**:
- 30% to training and coaching new and existing brewing staff
- 30% to data entry, record and system maintenance (ECP)
- 30% spent directly managing the day to day activities of the Brewing team.
- 10% spent finding and driving efficiencies and continuous improvement efforts with the Brewing team/department

- Brewing specific post-secondary education required
- 2+ years of professional brewery experience
- Supervisory experience within a brewery is required
- Detail oriented and able to multitask and prioritize situations that require immediate attention
- Knowledge of materials and equipment used within beer production
- Able to work under pressure and deadlines and holds themselves accountable
- Ability to effectively problem solve, overcome production-related obstacles
- Display a strong sense of urgency in all areas of the role
**Physical requirements**:
- Carrying and lifting heavy items, transferring and lifting or pushing items, working in awkward positions, operating heavy equipment, or holding your body in one position for a prolonged period
- Ability to lift 20kgs repetitively throughout a shift
- Standing for long periods of time in a warehouse environment
