Reporting to the DRAI, the MRP has the primary responsibility for: - Developing and implementing research communications strategies and actions that align with Aspiration 2030 - Contributing to initiatives that enhance the university’s internal and external research profile - Developing communications that increase our international rankings and global research reputation - Coordinating research communications in support of major projects and strategic initiatives, in collaboration with University Communications and Marketing - Coordinating research communications in support of engagements and events - Senior level communications support for the Vice-President Research and Innovation and VPRI Executive, including writing speeches, articles, internal communications, external strategies, complex correspondence, other reports, and guidance/advice The MRP has the vision to provide direction, supervision and mentorship to the Research Communications and Engagement Coordinator, Research Profile Officer, Research Profile Officer (Health), ACET Strategic Communications Officer and Awards Facilitator. - Job Requirements **Education**: University degree with a minimum 3 years’ experience in in a large complex organization, preferably public post-secondary, research organization or government or an equivalent combination of formal qualifications and experience. - Demonstrated experience developing and implementing strategic communications plans. - Demonstrated experience advising senior leadership on strategic communications across many levels including strategy, messaging, campaign planning, marketing, branding, design, web communications, social media, photography/videography. - Demonstrated experience managing communication and marketing activity in a large and complex institution, including maintaining websites, preparing messages and content for inclusion in public and promotional documents, implementing brand messaging, and working with communication and marketing offices to develop communication strategies and implement related activities. - Demonstrated understanding of the communication tools, tactics and relationships needed to effectively communicate at all levels within a complex internal organization and with external audiences. - High level of knowledge and strong judgment and understanding of traditional and new media, including social media and emerging technologies as strategic communication tools. - Exceptional oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, judgement and tact required to build and maintain positive relationships with multiple constituencies across the university and with external stakeholders. - Experience leading and a team on cross-functional communications projects with demonstrated ability to synthesize and share information so that each team member has the necessary information they need to perform their duties and understands their role within the project and how it contributes to project success. - Ability to work effectively across and with multiple cross-portfolio teams on projects by fostering collegial and collaborative relationships with colleagues, especially those with closely affiliated responsibilities, to ensure project success that aligns with the overall objectives and priorities of the university. - Ability to simultaneously manage a diverse range of projects and activities with shifting priorities and strict deadlines, and effectively address and resolv
