**Job Description**:
Our Edmonton office is looking for a dynamic, energetic, and professional Intermediate Urban Planner to join its team and we enjoy the benefits of a **_hybrid work model._**
In this role you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects including Neighbourhood and Area Structure Plans, Outline Plans, Land Use and rezonings, Due Diligence Reports, Infill developments, Development Permit and project management and coordination. **Most of the things you’ll be working on**:
- Undertake a range of planning assignments including land development, community planning, urban design and land use studies
- Conduct due diligence research, field work, analysis and report writing, site analysis, site design, strategic planning, and municipal policy overviews
- Assist in business development and the preparation of proposals and contracts for clients for planning assignments and multi-disciplinary projects
- Contribute to all aspects of land use planning projects with a preferred interest and focus on land development, subdivision planning, site design and/or urban design.
- Prepare municipal planning documents and policies (Outline Plan, ASP, NSP and zoning by-laws)
- Manage and support multiple planning projects
- Support Public Engagement processes from process design through to implementation
- Analyze development situations from competing points of view
**Qualifications**:
**You'll need to have**:
- Degree in Urban Planning, Urban Geography or a related discipline
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience
- Membership or eligibility for membership in Alberta Professional Planners Institute/Canadian Institute of Planners (APPI/CIP). Experience in project management preferred
- Ability to understand and interpret provincial and local planning policies and frameworks
- Experience with Public Engagement processes and strategies
- Ability to work individually or in a team environment
- Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
- Knowledge and strong proficiency with MS Office, in particular Word, Powerpoint and Excel
- Experience with CAD and GIS preferred
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, with a high attention to detail
- Written and oral communication expertise
