**Your Opportunity**
**Your Key Responsibilities**:
- Preparation of Municipal Development Plans and Land Use Bylaws.
- Collaboration and communication with clients, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
- Conducting research regarding planning policy, land use, social and economic topics.
- Providing professional advice regarding planning policy and zoning interpretation and regulatory approvals.
- Communicating with other multidisciplinary team members on relevant aspects of projects.
- Presenting to a variety of audiences, i.e. the public, stakeholders, business owners, boards, and Municipal Councils.
- Organizing and assisting in the facilitation of public engagement events.
- Assisting in the preparation of proposals and other business development activities.
**Qualifications**
**Your Capabilities and Credentials**
- Membership/eligibility, with the Canadian Institute of Planners or Alberta Professional Planners Institute.
- Knowledge and experience in community development and urban design leading practices.
- Experience in subdivision design and innovative planning approaches would be an asset.
- Excellent written/oral communication skills, organizational skills, and high attention to detail.
- Strong project management skills and experience of planning theory, practice and procedures.
- Strong communication, negotiation, interpersonal and time management skills with the ability to function in a high volume, challenging environment. Creative problem solving and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft and other programs such as InDesign are an asset.
**Education and Experience**
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Urban Planning; Master's degree in Planning is considered an asset.
- Minimum five (5) years of relevant professional experience.
Hybrid work is a possibility. Some travel may be required, such as attending meetings or engagement events. May occasionally visit study areas, construction sites and/or be exposed to outside elements and inclement weather conditions.
