**Company Overview**:
We are a well-established construction company based in Toronto, Ontario, with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects across the GTA. We are currently seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our team and manage a range of construction-related legal claims and matters.

**Position Overview**:
The Paralegal will work closely with project management staff, and management to handle various legal claims, disputes, and regulatory matters related to construction projects. This position requires an individual with a strong understanding of the construction industry and a proactive approach to managing legal risk and compliance.

**Requirements**:

- Licenced with the Law Society of Ontario as a Paralegal (mandatory)
- Degree or diploma from a recognized University or College in a relevant (Law-related) discipline.
- Five or more years' experience as a licenced paralegal
- High standards of behaviour, a professional attitude and commitment to quality service.
- Strong understanding of the **Construction Act**, lien processes, and contractual law.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time-management abilities.
- Proficiency with legal research tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

**Responsibilities**
- Manage and assist in the preparation, filing, and tracking of construction-related small claims, legal claims, such as lien claims, breach of contract, and delay disputes.
- Conduct legal research and provide summaries and recommendations to management.
- Draft correspondence, legal documents, and reports relevant to ongoing or potential claims.
- Liaise with external legal counsel, government agencies, and insurance adjustors as needed.
- Assist with the review and interpretation of contracts, subcontracts, and related documents.
- Monitor compliance with regulatory requirements under the Construction Act (Ontario) and other applicable legislation.
- Maintain organized records of all legal files, correspondence, and documentation.
- Support internal staff by providing legal guidance on contractual and compliance issues.

- Paralegal: 5 years (required)

**Licence/Certification**:

- Law Society of Ontario license (required)

**Employment Type**: Full-time

**Pay**: $65k to $80 k

**Work Location**: Hybrid Remote in Toronto (3 days in office, 2 days from home)

**Schedule**:

- Monday to Friday
