BME and TCELI are two of six departments in the Faculty of Engineering. Faculty and staff in the departments support and foster the educational and research pursuits of undergraduate and graduate engineering students, while providing the best student experience.

**Responsibilities**:
The Program Assistant supports the effective and efficient administration of the School of Biomedical Engineering (BME) undergraduate program, and assists with the BME graduate program as needed, ensuring adherence to program standards. The role provide support to the Thompson Centre for Engineering Leadership and Innovation (TCELI) undergraduate and graduate programs and provides administrative support to the Coordinator of ES1050. The Program Assistant provides a first point of contact for inquiries and will provide information to current and prospective students regarding admission processes, progression requirements, program eligibility, course selection and graduate requirements. The role collaborates with the Program Coordinator for BME and TCELI with regards to courses and programs to ensure that time-sensitive tasks are completed efficiently and on schedule.

The Program Assistant also contributes to ongoing refinement of program processes and procedures, creates, maintains and updates specialized School and Centre databases, generates data and reports for review, coordinates recruitment and admissions logistics and processes, coordinates logistics for program reviews, course evaluation processes and examinations, and maintains and updates program websites. The role provides assistance and back-up support for various graduate program processes including allocating, processing and tracking graduate student milestones, funding and scholarships. In addition, the Program Assistant ensures the efficient coordination of ES1050, Foundations of Engineering Practice, by acquiring resources and managing the preparation and logistics associated with experiential educational events, including a year-end design showcase, and tracking of course preparation, grading and release of regular course notifications.

**Qualifications**:

- Education:
- 3 year Community College Diploma in Business Management/Administration
- Mental Health First Aid training would be an asset

**Experience**:
- 2 years’ experience providing administrative support and customer service in an academic environment
- 1 year experience administratively supporting an academic program, preferably an undergraduate program
