We are currently seeking a Tax & Accounting Manager to join our Finance team. Based in Vaudreuil-Dorion, our modern head office is home to more than a hundred professionals who like to have fun every day. Of course, you can still take advantage of our hybrid telecommuting policy.

**Your responsibilities as Tax & Accounting Manager will be**:

- Responsible for tax compliance at the income tax level for our various companies
- Responsible for the implementation of action plans related to the filing of tax returns and the verification of regulatory compliance of financial and accounting practices
- Sales tax, consumption tax and carbon tax
- Responsible/Accountable for revisions (calculations), monthly remittances and returns for all US states and Canadian provinces where we operate
- Documentation and research of all tax developments/special taxes in the US and Canada (e.g. Superfund Tax) in order to reduce the organization's tax burden
- Review and/or prepare working papers to facilitate compliance reporting (e.g. GST/HST, income tax, etc.)
- Ensure accuracy of data reported to tax authorities
- Compliance (Holding Companies):

- Review quarterly and annual financial statements in a timely manner.
- Ensure the integrity of accounting information by verifying and analyzing transactions
- Review reconciliations and analysis of all accruals and balances
- Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets
- Audits:

- Follow up, report preparation, tax accruals and communication with our external auditors
- Responsible for managing provincial, state and federal audits
- Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of ad hoc and routine department and management reports
- Assist and act as the primary point of contact for external accountant/tax expert requests regarding tax compliance
- Supervision of team members; establish departmental goals, action plans and strategies
- Work in conjunction with members of the accounting department

What qualifications are required to be successful in this role?:

- Minimum of 8 years of experience as a Tax Manager, Financial Controller, Chief Accountant, or other experience in the field of expertise
- Experience in managing/leading a team
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Commerce and a master’s degree in Taxation (or equivalent)
- Hold a relevant certification (CPA)
- Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures
- Advanced knowledge of Canadian federal and provincial corporate taxes
- Good knowledge of US taxes (state and federal)
- Practical experience with accounting software (QuickBooks)
- Advanced MS Excel skills, including Vlookups and pivot tables
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication and writing skills
