Forklift Operator

**Summary**

We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our team at Ecco Recycling & Energy Corp. In this role, you will be responsible for operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to facilitate the efficient movement of materials within our facility. Your contributions will play a vital role in supporting our recycling operations.

**Responsibilities**
- Operate forklifts and clamp trucks safely and efficiently to move materials around the facility.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers as required.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on forklifts to ensure safety standards are met.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize warehouse operations and workflow.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while operating equipment.
- Notify supervisor of any mechanical or material issues
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Responsible for reporting any damage to equipment and tools to Shift Supervisor
- Communicate with fellow employees in the work area and shift supervisor via 2 way radio.
- Demonstrate ability to work effectively as a part of a team

- Be able to work under limited supervision
- Good problem-solving skills
- Ensures proper use of PPEs and hazard controls in place
- Has experience working with Forklift

**Requirements**:

- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator or similar role in a warehouse environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to forklift operation.
- Basic math skills for inventory tracking and order processing.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the job duties.
- Valid forklift operator certification is preferred.
- Ability to pass certification in order to operate a forklift
- Ability to perform duties while sitting, standing, walking and lifting for certain times throughout the shift
- Ability to interpret instructions both oral and written (use of two way radio communication required, training provided)
- Ability to work with plant management for required results
- Ability to be able to work as part of a team
- Willing to work overtime as requested by Supervisor/ Manager
- Professional/mature demeanor under stressful situations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to work with little supervision; must be self-directed

**Work Conditions**:
Indoor environment/ limited outdoor environment

Fast work pace

Dusty environment (Dust Masks required and training provided)

Strong communication and interpersonal skills in a group setting

**PPE Requirements**:
Steel Toe boots (not provided by company)

**Transportation Travel Information**:
No Public Transportation available.

**Hours & Availability**:
Monday 7:00am - 4:30pm

Tuesday - Friday 7:30am - 4:30pm

All positions are eligible for overtime as required and approved by the Supervisor.

**Wage**: $18/hr

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Expected hours: 40 - 44 per week

**Schedule**:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends
