Hotel Managing Supervisor

The Rosemount Inn is a boutique inn located in downtown Kingston. Our inn is a heritage property that includes 11 ensuite guestrooms, indoor common areas and gardens. We pride ourselves on consistently delivering an exceptional guest experience by providing a warm hospitality experience in a beautiful setting.
**Mandate**:To oversee the daily operations of the Rosemount Inn in order to maintain a consistently exceptional guest experience. Supervise and coordinate the activities of hotel staff.
**Job Duties**
**1) Ensure there is sufficient staffing each day to meet the operational needs of the inn**
- Create, maintain, and communicate the monthly employee schedule
- Ensure coverage during schedule exceptions (e.g. no-shows, vacations, etc)
- Provide occasional overflow and surge support for front desk, housekeeping, breakfast, laundry, and other functional areas as required
- Participate in hiring and training, and performance management process for hotel staff
**2) Ensure there is sufficient supply and inventory to meet the operational needs of the inn**
- Monitor inventory levels of room amenities and housekeeping supplies, and order when required
- Monitor office/front desk supplies, and order when required
- Coordinate with Kitchen staff to ensure sufficient F&B inventory for breakfast service
**3) Maintain cleanliness and safety standards throughout the property**
- Oversee day-to-day housekeeping functions
- Perform routine inspections to ensure cleanliness standards are maintained throughout the property, including employee work areas (e.g. laundry room, office, storage rooms etc.)
- Coordinate with Kitchen staff to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met in the kitchen, dining, and office area
**4) Deliver exceptional customer service**
- Participate in customer-facing shift rotation and create exceptional guest experiences
- Oversee day-to-day front desk functions and guest services
- Proactively seek guest feedback, and action as necessary
- Monitor guest reviews for trends and themes, respond as necessary
- Resolve customer complaints and escalations
- Respond to emergencies
**5) Maintain safety and maintenance standards**
- Perform routine property and room inspections to identify and track safety and maintenance issues
- Identify FF&E requirements (replacement/repair of existing, new requirements, improvement opportunities, etc.)
- Assist owners in repair and maintenance activities
- Coordinate with maintenance personnel and contractors for minor repairs and routine maintenance activities, including fire safety inspections
**6) Assist owner with other items, as required**
- Assist the owners in dealing with urgent matters and emergencies
- Assist the owners in planning and executing special events
- Other items, as required.
**Skills Requirements**
- Bachelors (or equivalent) degree in Hotel/Travel & Tourism
- Minimum 1 years’ experience in hotel guest services
- 1 years’ experience in staff supervision
- 1 years’ experience in customer support
- Fluency in English
- Strong familiarity with Kingston and surrounding regions
- Fluency in a second language (e.g French, Spanish) will be considered a strong asset
- Experience working in other countries, demonstrated ability to adapt to cultural differences within the work environment and with guest interactions will be considered a strong asset
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $55,000.00 per year
