**Brief Overview**:
Under the direction of the Post Secondary and K-12 Managers, the Education Coordinator will play a key role in developing and implementing strategies to encourage and guide Métis learners through their educational journey. The Education Coordinator will support the growing demand for Métis student engagement and recruitment across both Post Secondary and K-12 education. As the number of prospective Métis students increases, the Education Coordinator will development and implement targeted recruitment strategies, build strong relationships with high schools, community stakeholders, and manage the logistics of the recruitment events.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Developing and implementing recruitment strategies for prospective Métis students.
- Building and maintaining relationships with high school and other community stakeholders.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure smooth communication, alignment of goals, and the successful execution of projects and initiatives.
- Maintaining accurate records of student interactions, recruitment activities, and event participation to monitor progress and outcomes.
- Organizing and attending recruitment events (fairs, school visits and information sessions).
- Facilitate community connections through provincial community events.
- Promoting community engagement through partnership, programs and events.
- Assisting managers with project implementation, troubleshooting, and cross-departmental collaboration.
- Providing training and mentorship to team members involved in student outreach and recruitment.
- Coordinate meetings, travel arrangements, and itineraries.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in education, Social Work, Indigenous Studies, Sociology, Public Administration, Communication or related field is required.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in student recruitment events, educational coordination, event planning, and/or program management/coordination.
- Must have experience working with Métis communities and a strong understanding of Métis culture and values.
- An equivalent combination of academic and professional experience will be considered.

**Knowledge and Skills**:

- Understanding of Métis culture, history, and challenges, with a demonstrated ability to engage with Métis students, families, and communities.
- Ability to organize, manage, and execute events such as school visits, fairs, and informational sessions.
- The ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with various stakeholders, including high schools, community organizations, and prospective students.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
- Competency in using office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), customer relationship management (CRM) tools.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively engage with students, parents, educators, and community stakeholders.
- Project management skills to oversee and execute initiatives and recruitment events.
- Familiarity with student information systems and data management to maintain accurate records and track progress.
- Social media and marketing skills for outreach and maintaining contact with prospective students.
- Leadership and mentorship abilities to guide and train team members and provide ongoing support.

- Must undergo a Criminal Record Check
- Valid Saskatchewan driver’s license and access to reliable transportation
