**Job Overview**: We are looking for a detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist to enhance our healthcare team. You will be pivotal in ensuring accurate billing with Alberta Health, Workers Compensation, Ontario Health Insurance Plan, and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board of Ontario.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Utilize medical coding to efficiently process claims for reimbursement.
- Review and verify billing and coding accuracy to ensure compliance.
- Update and maintain patient accounts with billing information.
- Follow up on unpaid claims and appeal denied claims proactively.
- Uphold patient confidentiality in strict compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Display strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Manage medical records effectively and efficiently.
- Communicate clearly with patients and staff to resolve inquiries.
- Work both independently and collaboratively to meet billing deadlines.
- Demonstrate proficiency in medical terminology, ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding, and reconciliation billing processes.
**Qualifications/Experience**:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding (preferred).
- Familiarity with Alberta Health and Workers Compensation Board billing.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with Ontario Health Insurance Program and Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (required).

- Ability to work autonomously while contributing to a team.
