**Job description** Host - Mott 32 Fine Dining Restaurant COMPANY OVERVIEW: Mott 32 represents modern Hong Kong as well as a new chapter of Chinese dining. Named after the famed convenience store at 32 Mott Street in New York, the restaurant embodies the Chinese culture and philosophy that has been shaped from generation-to-generation. Mott 32 meticulously sources the finest ingredients, allowing the authentic flavours to shine with delicacies derived from Cantonese, Szechuan, and Beijing cultures. Mott 32 has been awarded "Best New Restaurant", "Best Fine Dining Restaurant", & "Best Restaurant Wine List". The restaurant contains 148 seats including 4 private rooms and 1 patio. POSITION OVERVIEW: The host plays one of the most important roles in the restaurant. This position is responsible for handling all the reservation inquiries, first impression of our dining experience and the communication of the restaurant internally and externally. This position will prompt guests satisfaction by handling all the guests' inquiries attentively and accurately on a daily basis. He/She can always ensure the front entrance is presentable and the communication with the guests is flawless. A qualified host should always ensure the guest’s requests passed efficiently within the restaurant among all positions. Job responsibilities include taking reservations, handling large parties inquiries, communicating the guests request to the kitchen and managers, and maintaining the host areas. RESPONSIBILITIES: - Acting as the communication center between the restaurant and the guests - Ensure all the fine dining standards are achieved - Having excellent communication skills for both internal and external guests - Having full understanding about the restaurant and menu concept - Be able to handle the large parties inquiries - Be able to stay calm under pressure, prioritize and synchronize the sequence of service - Have the ability for multi-tasking in a high volume restaurant - Detail orientated to go beyond and above of the guests’ expectation QUALIFICATIONS: - Serving It Right Certificate - Minimum 1 year of restaurant or related guest service experience - Valid working visa in Canada - Second language will be an asset Work remotely - No **Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time Pay: $17.40 per hour Additional pay: - Tips **Experience**: - hospitality: 1 year (preferred) - serving: 1 year (preferred) Work Location: In person
